In this episode I discuss John Muir’s last fight to save the Hetch Hetchy Valley. I talk about how he argued that this spectacular valley should have been preserved for the same reasons we preserve the Yosemite Valley and the Grand Canyon. It is nature’s cathedral like no other, and this is part of our paradise of Earth we must preserve and protect. As for suppling water to the San Francisco Bay Area, there are many other options that are more suitable, and this canyon did not have to be ruined. As a Civil Engineer, who specializes in Water Resources, I also read a short story with the same title of this episode which I think my listeners will enjoy. Finally, I discuss no matter what faith or religion, or lack of thereof, we need unify and work together towards this goal.
